Antony was out with the Police alongside the Andrew Snowden, Lancashire Police & Crime Commissioner - to see first hand the impact Operation Centurion is having in tackling ASB in Padiham.
Commenting afterwards Antony said:
“One topic that has been continually raised with me at my open surgeries is the issue of ASB. And none more so than in Padiham where a small minority cause misery for many. Whether that’s around the Leisure Centre, on the greenway or at Tesco we need to take action. That’s why Operation Centurion is so important for the area. This is about making sure we tackle the problem head on by significantly increasing the police presence on our streets.
Over 2500 extra hours are being put into front line policing in Padiham with action being taken. It was brilliant to join both the police and our PCC Andrew Snowden this week to see the impact it’s having in keeping our streets safe. I’ve said for a long time that we need a tough approach to this problem and I’ll continue to work with the police, the Crime Commissioner, local Councillors and residents to make sure we put an end to repeat offenders and nip certain behaviours in the bud before they escalate.”
