Burnley and Padiham has a significant ✈️ aviation sector and so this morning Antony asked the Transport Secretary what steps are being taken to get aircrafts flying again.
It's important that we protect the skilled engineering jobs that we have in this area and whilst the furlough scheme, the loan guarantees and the £450 million funding for research and development are welcome, ultimately we need to get planes in the air in a safe and sustainable way. That includes working with global partners and looking at schemes like the IATA's travel pass which Antony mentioned in the chamber today.
