Earlier today Antony Higginbotham was invited by the Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid to attend a briefing at Number 11 Downing Street.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss how the Northern Powerhouse can benefit towns like Burnley and Padiham and the infrastructure needed to rebalance the country.
After the meeting Antony commented:
"This morning's meeting was very positive. The Chancellor grew up in Rochdale so understands that we need to rebalance the country by investing in our northern towns and cities, getting businesses booming locally and ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace with economic success.
Over the next few months we will be discussing the specific priorities and needs of Burnley, ensuring that the Budget in March 2020 sets us on the right course both locally and nationally."
