- The East Lancashire Falls Response Service Team has been shortlisted for the NHS Parliamentary Awards.
The shortlisted nominees for the NHS Parliamentary Awards have been announced today with The East Lancashire Falls Response Service Team making it to the regional shortlist for The Excellence in Urgent and Emergency Care Award.
Nominated by Antony Higginbotham MP the Falls Response Service Team is representing Burnley in the prestigious awards which were set up in 2018 for the NHS’ 70th Birthday. Each year nominees are judged by senior local and regional NHS experts, recognise the massive contribution made by the individuals who work in and alongside the NHS.
Congratulating the Falls Team on being shortlisted Antony Higginbotham MP said,
I had the opportunity to meet the Falls Response Service Team a few weeks ago and was able to talk to them about the important work they do supporting some of our vulnerable residents. Through their tireless dedication, more residents are kept safe in their home when they would otherwise need to be taken to hospital and ambulances are freed up to respond to other emergency call-outs.
To have such a great local team shortlisted is fantastic, recognising the work and commitment they have to helping people in our borough. I know we’re all behind them in their bid to win the NHS Parliamentary Awards and I want to wish them the best of luck as they progress to the final selection of this prestigious award.
The NHS Parliamentary Awards have highlighted some amazing examples of care provided from all NHS services, including but not limited to hospitals, community services and local practices. And in Burnley we also saw Sam Tyrer nominated for the NHS Rising Star Category.
Antony Higginbotham MP was among over 260 MPs in England who put forward outstanding nominees who have innovated, impressed and made a real difference to how local health and care services provide care for patients.
The regional champions will now be judged by a national panel made up of senior clinicians, union leaders, former winners and patient representatives, with the overall winners announced at a special awards ceremony held in Parliament on Wednesday 7 July 2021 – the week of the NHS’ birthday.
