A MESSAGE FROM ANTONY AS 2021 COMES TO A CLOSE:
I’d like to thank every one of you for the support you’ve shown me during 2021. And wish you and your family health, happiness, and prosperity in the new year.
Here’s a brief snapshot of the last 12 months
Together we:
Secured £20 million out of the Levelling Up Fund
Got the Pioneer Place project off the ground
Provided support to our local businesses
Saw the expansion of Burnley College
Launched a Lifetime Skills Guarantee so that people can get the skills they need at every stage of their life
Opened a new youth hub to get young people in to apprenticeships
Boosted funding in our primary and secondary schools by £14 billion over the next three years
Ensured we have more front line police officers in Burnley and Padiham
Introduced tougher sentences for the worst offenders
Provided extra funding for our local NHS services
Delivered an amazing vaccination rollout
Introduced a points based immigrations system
And crucially gave Burnley and Padiham a strong voice in Parliament.
I also want to say a huge thank you to those in my team who work tirelessly to support me and, in turn, the thousands of people who contact me looking for help.
2022 leaves much more to do and come the new year I’ll be back at it, working just as hard for our borough.
