Antony spoke in the Budget Debate - making the point that both residents and businesses in Burnley and Padiham are going to benefit from the announcements made by the Chancellor. Gyms like FX Fitness Experience, salons and barbers like Jack Jones and pubs like the Hapton Inn and the Crooked Billet who will benefit from the Restart Grants - or the thousands of workers whose jobs are being protected through the extension of the furlough scheme. This budget is helping so many people in our borough - providing continued support for workers and businesses alike, from the self-employed to the young person wanting to get on the housing ladder. For areas like Burnley, which has a significant manufacturing sector the announcement of the Super Deduction could also be transformational. It means local businesses in everything from aerospace to construction are incentivised to invest in new equipment and machinery – boosting their productivity, creating jobs and powering up our local recovery.
