Member of Parliament for Burnley and Padiham Antony Higginbotham visited the Pioneer Place development in Burnley town centre today. The visit provided Antony with the opportunity to see the development first hand and to meet with those building the new £23 million leisure complex.
Once complete Pioneer Place will feature a range of new shops and restaurants, as well as a state-of-the-art cinema – all of which is set to transform Burnley town centre, bringing a new level of retail, dining and leisure experience to the community.
Commenting Antony Higginbotham MP said:
It was amazing to see the transformation taking shape at Pioneer Place! Due to be completed this summer this development will bring a whole new dimension to Burnley town centre.
The new retail and leisure units, plus a 7 screen cinema, with Reel Cinema moving into the heart of the town, will bring more choice for residents and drive footfall to boost our local economy.
And this is exactly the type of change that I have been campaigning for since I was elected! A £23 million investment secured in partnership with Burnley Borough Council, Lancashire County Council and the Government's "Getting Building Fund" is what we've had to do to get this project off the shelf. It will be well worth it!
