Last night Parliament sat until just before midnight discussing the UK Internal Market Bill.
This is a Bill that:
✅ Creates a fallback position for us if we do not agree a free trade deal with the EU.
✅ Protects our Union, keeping Northern Ireland aligned with the rest of the UK (in any scenario).
✅ Respects the Good Friday Agreement
✅ Is in the interests of the whole UK
And for those who are saying that it breaks international law - our Parliament is supreme and as somebody who is committed to our Union, Antony will not allow the EU to break it apart if we do not reach a trade deal with them.
We are saying that having signed up to an agreement to fulfil a democratic mandate to the people of this country, which one side now appears to be using to undermine our constitutional integrity, we will stand resolutely in pushing back.
