Member of Parliament for Burnley and Padiham, Antony Higginbotham, joined the St George's Day Celebrations this weekend in Towneley Park alongside Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson.
Organised by the Burnley and Pendle Scouts, the event saw hundreds of scouts parade from the car park on the old Towneley High School towards the Hall. Complimented by a brass band, full families turned out to see the Squirrels, Cubs, Beavers and Scouts, as well as all the adult volunteers take part in celebrating the patron saint of England.
Commenting Antony Higginbotham MP said:
Here we are annual St George's Day Parade in Towneley Park with the Scouts, the Cubs and everyone else. The sun is shining on East Lancashire for the Burnley and Pendle annual St George's Day Parade.
It's been brilliant to see all the young people taking part right from across the borough and from Pendle as well. And particularly to see all the adult volunteers who do so much to make it all work, celebrate that 10, 20, 30, 40 years. So congratulations to all the scouts, the cubs, the beavers, the squirrels, and all the adults who make a great success. Happy St George's Day everyone.
